” I am Afsaneh Kalantar, a Persian girl. I was born in a family who was interested in art. Becoming an artist was not a conscious decision as I remember myself having color pencils drawing in my childhood.
My mother was an artist, she was passionate about handicrafts, specially painting. My memory from her is my mom painting a picture. To me, art is therapeutic like meditation and I am glad to go through life with art. What motivates me in my life is painting & painting… I hold a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a master’s degree in interior design. My family has always paved the way for me to pursue art and later on I have made many friends who accompanied me throughout this journey. ” AK
What is FeFe’s story?
« FeFe is an illustrated character which is a phantasy version of myself. She also has a pet, a cat named Pesghel. She lives in FeFe Land and has established a studio in this town. The story behind why I chose this name is quite cute… A beloved friend of mine named Laleh used to call me FeFe and ever since I have become FeFe. FeFe can turn into classical and modern characters such as famous painters and artists in the world. The technique I used to create this character is a combination of pictures collage and illustration. I work with Cintiq and iPad Pro to design and paint. I do not use paper and color in order to protect the environment. » AK
