As such, much of Abri’s work has dealt with the idea of communication as the ultimate circular experience. In the giving and receiving of information, meaning can only be found in the completion of a circuit: the sending alone, without reception, does not guarantee transmission of a message. She investigates the endless cycles through which messages can be interpreted, misinterpreted and reinterpreted. The telephone, therefore, is widely used as a motif, as handsets are broken down into receivers and transmitters, conveying and receiving information in new loops via the audience.
