Bold is an unusual chair designed by Big-Game for the publisher Mustache. Playful and very graphic, this chair is made up of two tubular metal parts nested one inside the other. It thus updates the tradition of the tubular steel seat. Indeed, the goal of this collection is to transform basic elements to add a « plus » while preserving the integrity of the original element. The tubular metal structure at the origin of the traditional metal chair is thickened by a foam padding effect. Inflated with thick polyurethane foam, the line drawn by the Bold plays the role of both feet, seat and backrest, providing it with surprising comfort. The Bold chair is made in one stroke in the style of Osvaldo Cavandoli’s Linea and thickened like the font with grease applied. Thus, the Bold chair succeeds in saving seats and backs, and this was the stated objective of the Big-Game designers: « to transform basic elements to bring a » plus « while preserving the integrity of the starting element ”. Everything superfluous is eliminated to keep only the essentials. The Bold chair finds its place in many collections such as at MoMA in New York, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, or the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich. Ultra graphic, the Bold chair does not go unnoticed. This surprising and whimsical chair is covered with a removable and washable textile covering that can change colors in a few moments. With its colorful and playful appearance, the Bold chair adds a spicy and surprising touch to interiors. To be displayed in a child’s room or as an office chair for comfort while obtaining an astonishing design.
